In my New Product Planning course we were asked to develop a new chicken nugget shape for Perdue. This project was done in three parts, first deciding on the target audience, second choosing the new shape that would appeal to them, and finally choosing the best way to promote that new shape. I decided on the idea of number chicken nuggets due to the opportunity for them to be interactive, especially with the addition of math symbols. My promotion idea and explanation is in the presentation below.
This idea was presented to Rick Lloyd, VP of Stakeholder Partnerships at Perdue, who brought this idea to the Perdue team. The team particularly enjoyed my marketing idea for the nuggets, using the current 6-7 trend to appeal to kids, and decided to make 6-7 chicken nuggets. These will be releasing in 3,000 Walmart stores starting May 1st! Below are some pictures of when this was announced to me by both Rick Lloyd and Chris Perdue.
